Join us for an informative presentation from WWU MBA alumna Phaedra Beckert on how her MBA has taught her the skills, strategy, and experience to become a leader in the nonprofit world. Beckert will discuss the commonalities between nonprofit and NGO business skills and those of for-profit industry; the flexibility of the MBA program for those seeking to complement work life; and the ins and outs of board development and leadership. You won't want to miss this fascinating presentation!

Phaedra Beckert, MBA, CFRE
Passionate about making the world a brighter place, Phaedra transitioned from political campaign work to nonprofit advocacy and ultimately fund development for higher education. It is her belief institutions thrive on a foundation of basic principles. Phaedra earned her MBA from Western Washington University in ’21 and her B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from University of California, Berkeley in ’02. She’s currently on the board of directors for the Northwest Avalanche Center and an alumna of the National Ski Patrol.

Associate Professor of Marketing / Director, MBA and Graduate Programs / College of Business and Economics
Mark teaches digital marketing (undergraduate) and marketing strategy (MBA) at the College of Business and Economics at Western Washington University. He is the director of the MBA program which has daytime and evening programs in Bellingham and a weekend program in Everett.
