On Saturday, May 17, over a thousand alumni, family, friends, community members, faculty, deans, members of the board of The Foundation for WWU & Alumni, and kids (lots of kids!) gathered near the Wade King Recreation Center and the track to enjoy the very first WWU Block Party. Baby Cakes played R&B, soul, and funk hits while folks enjoyed playing lawn games, getting their caricatures done, and toasting each other in the beer garden. The food trucks were bustling with eats and treats for everyone. A magician wowed everyone with his amazing sleight of hand while Sweet Art Cotton Candy spun incredible animals from sugar. And even though the weather was rainy that didn't stop anyone from spending a few hours outdoors with friends. Thank you to all of those who made it a success!
