The WWU Give Day, support your favorite club, the backbone of the Western experience.

Health and Human Services major Jade Phillips came back to campus in-person this fall ready for clubs and classes, internships and adventures. Craving connection, she maintained her involvement with Generation Action, a club on campus educating and advocating for all aspects of reproductive health. Not only does Generation Action raise money to bring speakers and help with socials, educational events, and the on-campus Period Pantry to address period poverty, they also raise funds for other social service organizations in Bellingham like DVSAS and Lydia Place. Sharing resources about health education is a passion of Jade’s, and one that carries over into her academic work as well.

As part of her health and human services major, Jade produces and hosts a podcast called Dig Deeper: A Human Services Field Guide. Dig Deeper gives prospective and in-coming first-year students a glimpse into the courses, internships, and opportunities in the health and human services field at Western and in the greater Bellingham community. Jade’s internship with the Alternative Library isn’t directly related to her major, but the community-building and professional development will serve her well as she moves into public health advocacy.

To support the clubs that mean so much to students like Jade.
