WWU Advancement wins CASE District VIII awards
CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education) District VIII, which represents the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada, has announced their awards for marketing and communications initiatives, and WWU is well represented, winning eight awards. These prestigious awards are given every year to the campaigns, initiatives, publications, and individuals who advance higher education.

Here’s our winning lineup:
- Mary Gallagher, Sean Patrick, Luke Hollister for Communications Initiatives: Mighty Women of Western, 50 Years of Title IX (honoring the event, videos, magazine coverage, etc.).
- Mary Gallagher, editor of Window Magazine, for Magazines, 3x a year: Window magazine (print)..
- University Marketing Director Elizabeth Lambert for Marketing/online advertising: Taking the Leap, WWU’s Admissions Campaign.
- John Thompson, assistant director of University Communications, for Writing, profile, 1000+: Beautiful, Loyal and Tough.
- Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications Frances Badgett for Writing, profile, 1000+: Global Hitchhiker.
We also want to recognize Chris Roselli (’99), director of Community Relations, for his win in the category of Special Events for Western Wednesday First Night Out.
