Student Ambassador Spotlight: Alexia Rosas
Meet Alexia, A Student Ambassador for WWU! Alexia is a Senior studying Chemistry here at Western who loves the community and connections with friends, other students, alumni, and donors. Alexia has big goals for after graduation, planning to work in a chemistry lab for the FDA.
Why did you choose Western?
I chose Western because I loved the campus and the idea of being able to explore Bellingham.
What do you like about Western?
I like the sense of community the university has.
How is your student ambassador experience? What are your duties?
I love being a student ambassador and interacting with different people and groups that interact with the western community. My duties are to create a sense of community and make connections with students, alumni, and donors.
Which professors do you work with? What is your favorite class? If not in a declared major yet, what is your area of interest?
My favorite classes this quarter are Chem 463 with Rob Berger and Chem 434 with Ying Bao.
What would you like to say to a someone who has made a gift to support Western students and programs?
I would like to say thank you for supporting our learning and educational goals. It is really great to see the sense of community and support Western has.
What do you do when you aren’t in class?
Usually when I’m not in class I’m either working or spending time with my friends.
Where is your happy place either on campus or in Bellingham?
My happy place is going down to Boulevard Park to take a walk and watch the sunset.
What are your professional dreams and goals? Where could you see yourself in five years?
My goal after graduation is to work in a chemistry lab for the FDA. In 5 years, I can see myself living on the east coast and working for the FDA
