Description

WWU alumnus and celebrated financial literacy educator Paul Merriman (’66) is back on campus with simple steps you can take to turn your money into millions! Plus, by attending the event (in-person or virtually) you’re eligible to win $1,000 to invest!*

Paul will be leading two workshops: one for beginners, and another for those who want to take their investment knowledge to the next level! Each workshop will last roughly an hour, and you’re free to attend both sessions. Don’t miss this chance to hear from a national recognized authority on mutual funds, index investing, and asset allocation.

Alumni, students, faculty, and staff are all encouraged to attend. Food will be provided between sessions.

  • Workshop 1 (Investing 101): 4:00-5:00 p.m.
  • Workshop 2 (Investing 201 & 301): 5:00-6:00 p.m.

*Must be present to win. Winner will receive personal help from Paul Merriman to invest the winnings.

Paul Merriman ('66)

After retiring in 2012 from Merriman Wealth Management, which he founded in 1983, Paul created The Merriman Financial Education Foundation, dedicated to providing investors of all ages with free information and tools to make informed decisions in their own best interest and successfully implement their retirement savings program. 

Paul is author of eight books, including, We’re Talking Millions! 12 Simple Ways to Supercharge Your Retirement; Financial Fitness Forever: 5 Steps to More Money, Less Risk, and More Peace of Mind; Live It Up Without Outliving Your Money and the “How To Invest” series. 

Paul is also the founder of financial literacy efforts at Western, and inspires the work of the Merriman Financial Literacy Program, which helps students improve their money management skills and financial wellness through multiple channels.

Parking at WWU on Weekdays for Visitors with Disabilities

  • Mon-Fri, 7:00am-4:30pm: both a WWU permit and state disability placard are needed.
  • Purchase your permit at the pay stations in lot C or 6V or use the Parkmobile app (use Zone 1200). This allows parking in any disability space. If these are full, you can use a non-reserved space nearby.
